Silver Buckle Rodeo Club was started in Clark County, Washington
with the stated intention of combating the spread of juvenile crime
through the encouragement of horsemanship to youth in our
community.
Organized as a Non-Profit Corporation (Section 501(c)(4)), for the
purpose of promoting rodeo events, to encourage the ownership
and care of horses, and to promote horsemanship. Focuses of the
programs were to target school-age youth, continue the battle
against juvenile delinquency, substance abuse, gang involvement,
and truancy.
Organization began charitable gaming activities, which it continues
to operate under Class K and L Bingo and Pull-Tab licenses
granted by the State of Washington Legislature and the Washington
State Gambling Commission. The Rodeo Bingo Hall in Vancouver is
currently ranked as the 10th largest game in the State based on
gross revenues.
Organization leased 60 acres in Clark County for use as rodeo
grounds. Outdoor arena was constructed in 1989, and the freehold
to the grounds was acquired in 1992.
Restructured and IRS granted Silver Buckle Rodeo Club charitable
status under Section 501(c) (3)
Silver Buckle Youth Equestrian Center officially changed from a
working rodeo program to a full-time equine therapy center. Silver
Buckle Youth Equestrian Center is a non-profit 501 c (3)
organization. Due to our non-profit status, we rely heavily on
donations, volunteers, and community support.
Rodeo Bingo went out of business; resulting in loss of funding for
Silver Buckle. In order for Silver Buckle to continue serving at-risk
youth, we continue to look for new funding sources and rely on the
kindness of the community in which we live.
